You should all be as proud of your students as I am, they are really taking ownership and doing so well this unit! I am excited to say we are ahead of the other 6th graders which will leave us time to really use this information in a real way. Making math applicable to life is so important and unfortunately is not always enforced. This week your students will be working on planning a meal with nutritional constraints that must fit around certain inequalities. I think this project will be difficult, but really valuable!
My colleague, Miss Nasitir found a wonderful website that your students can practice their balancing equations on an actual balance.

Hooda Math ( http://www.hoodamath.com/ ) is a wonderful website for math games. I used this with my 3rd graders last year and they loved it!
I am planning some more project based learning for May and am super excited to get your kids up and moving!!
As always, please feel to contact me!
